Program highlights

• Lead and learn with a group of 10 high school sophomores and juniors.

• Experience 13 weeks of training in the areas of Social Justice and Grassroots Organizing.

• Share your passion to bring change to your community by creating a Social Justice project that could be implemented within the city of Gary.

• Have the opportunity to receive a scholarship to an accredited college or university of your choice upon graduation of high school.

• Help administrate and coordinate the 2009 Social Justice Youth Leadership Summer Program for a new group of participants.

Applicant Qualifications

• Will be a high school Sophomore or Junior in the fall of 2008 and a resident of Gary.

• Currently have at least a 2.5 Grade Point Average.

• Strong desire to lead or work with your peers to achieve community change.

• Bold, outspoken and not afraid to take a stand on issues that hinder community progress.
